Joan Beard B.A. speaks to an entranced audience on the topic of wild edible and medicinal plants. She also gave a walk and talk through La Paix's many gardens and woods, identifying the useful plants.

While Joan was giving her talk, Melissa Dennison was doing a workshop on
Making Herbal Soap and Ben and Stacey McKean were giving a program in
the TV room on Building their Straw Built Home. Each time slot had
at least 3 different workshops/talks/demos taking place.

Joan shows one of the many plant samples she brought to share with her delighted audience. Alan Rowe, of the Culture and History Dept., W.V. views from the far right. He was extremely instrumental and helpful in helping to make La Paix Herb Farm a National Historic Landmark.

Elaine Ferry stood in for Melissa Dennison while she taught Making Lavender Soap. Melissa brought many beautiful plants and soaps. She sold out of the lavender plants by Noon. |
