vendors were happy!
Melissa Dennison, Garden Treasures,
sold out - plants, soap, lavender bouquets!

Nancy Longo
of Pierpoint Restaurant, Fells Point, Baltimore, Maryland wields a
mighty chef's knife.

Nancy,
Executive Chef and Owner of Pierpoint Restaurant in Baltimore Maryland,
prepares Herb Crusted Halibut with Lemon Grass Lavender Buerre Blanc.
Myra collected these herbs and lemon thyme, Rosemary and Lemon Balm for
this delicious recipe.

Photographs by Mike Costello. Myra cropped the Ratatouille close
up.

Elaine Ferry
RN and Justin Wizard, two presenters at the Fair sample Nancy's halibut
and
proclaim it delicious!

The fascinated audience
obviously savors Nancy's offering. The house crew did too at the
end of the evening - as an appetizer!

Dale Hawkins, Executive Chef
of Stonewall Resort in Roanoke, Lewis County, home of the La Paix
Lavender Fair, prepares a Vegetarian Ratatoille dish for an expectant
and impatient audience of waiting pre-registered guests. Dale's
menu (for complete menu
see Lavender
Fair 2007) also included Barbequed Lavender Chicken Skewer
with Cucumber Salsa. Dale and I agreed that he had outdone himself
at this 5th Fair, a difficult task!

Professor Bob Maslowski took
an intensely interested group of people through La Paix's woods to
discover edible wild mushrooms (the heavy rain on Friday before the Fair
saved the mushroom walk).

As an eager mushroom hunter
discovers another oyster mushroom on the fallen log in La Paix's woods,
the intrepid photographer, Mike Costello, takes an arty photo of an
oyster mushroom on a log in the foreground. |

A young explorer discovers a mushroom among the many ferns in the wood
at La Paix,

while a slightly older
explorer sniffs an oyster mushroom.
