Dr. Maslowski teaches a survey course on Food and Culture which includes
a wild mushroom walk for the Marshall Univ. Graduate program. He
also grows shitake mushrooms and makes award winning wines.

The Fifth Annual Lavender Fair & More,
to be held
at La Paix Herb Farm in Lewis County, West Virginia on Saturday, June 30th,
2007 announces the Fifth Annual Lavender Cookie Contest. Contestants are
asked to bring their cookies and the recipe to the Fair for judging. Judges will determine the winning cookie based on
presentation, flavor, texture and originality.

Art Digman, Dowser, returns again
to demonstrate
how to find information using dowsing techniques.
Peter Gail, PhD. will give a talk
on Edible Wild Plants. He is the author
of many books on this subject and
a well known national expert. He
is particularly enamored of
dandelions and their benefits and will have a booth featuring his
"Dandy Blend"

Marie Koon, apprentice 2007 at
La Paix,
will demonstrate the distillation of
lavender at the Fair.
Music with Neal McCloskey,
Jerry Levin (Dugan) and the Duke - Neal explains:
The
three of us sing great harmony together perfect for folk music. We have been
close friends even before then and love to sing all types of music. We love the
music of Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, The Kingston
Trio, Joan Baez, Judy Collins, Simon and Garfunkle,
James Taylor, Carlie Simon, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash,
Kris Kristofferson, Willie Nelson, John Denver, Peter Paul and more. The
group loves requests and hopes you sing along.
