These gloves (the natrile - first photo) are the best gloves I have ever used. I harvested stinging nettle today with them with no sting whatever! They fit so closely that you can feel the smallest weed and they last and last and last. I have had gloves costing $30. and more which did not work as well as these. They do not wear out at the fingertips like most do. This spring we (my helper and I) have weeded and discarded the weeds in a row 4 feet wide and 30 feet long and six feet tall and I am still wearing the same gloves! You will love them - buy some for your gardening friend or relative or both. They are so inexpensive and so worthwhile. I have included a latex coated garden glove by the same maker for those who prefer latex and a beautiful purple suede glove for colder times in the garden - all by Kinco. Herb Buy of the Month - March 2005 La Paix Herb
Farm's 1/16 ounce organically grown, naturally dried catnip in checked bag with beguiling (to your cat) tie. Sold in sets of three $10. This sells out fast, so
order soon. While speaking at a Garden Club gathering, I was told that the hostess's cat wouldn't touch catnip. I told her about my organically grown, naturally dried catnip and said I would mail her some. The day after mailing, the hostess called and said, "The mailman put the envelope of catnip in the front door mail slot and by the time I got home, the catnip was scattered all around and my cat was very happy." |

According to Suzanne Catty, author of Hydrosols, the Next Aromatherapy, "Melissa is calming to the body more than the mind but without being overly sedative. Use it for stress, anxiety and childhood hysterics (ed. "Many women buy it for their husbands!"). It has shown some positive results for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). For children with ADHD, use thirty milliliters in one liter of water; consume throughout the day. For adults, double the quantity of hydrosol: sixty milliliters in one liter of water. During pregnancy, lemon balm can be used to treat morning sickness, digestive upsets and water retention and as a system tonic for general well-being. Melissa is gentle enough for use on babies; try adding a teaspoon to a night time bath. Taken internally in the three-week protocol, lemon balm makes a good prophylactic in flu and allergy season and has both immune-stimulating and some infection-fighting properties. People who are very hypotensive should avoid the three-week protocol, as it has further lowered already low blood pressure in some clients. Lemon balm is a gentle cholagogue and has been used in digestive drinks for centuries; the hydrosol certainly aids digestion and reduces the intestinal spasms and cramps associated with colitis and Crohn's disease. In some people, however, it has shown a laxative effect so test it on the individual before using in cases of bowel disorders. A good antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, melissa can be used on its own or in blends as a skin clarifier and to calm rash, irritations and eczema. Use undiluted as soon as possible after contact with poison ivy or oak. (ed. note: I can attest to its efficacy on poison ivy rash - it worked last summer when my old standby, jewelweed, failed to conquer the poison ivy rash on my arm). Apply undiluted topically to herpes sores six to ten times a day, ideally as soon as you feel them coming on, and take one-half tablespoon internally at each application." Always consult your health professional before using. (Editor) The lemon balm hydrosol at La Paix is made from La Paix's organically grown lemon balm.
