Editor's Note: I had
a rare case of poison ivy on my hand this spring (from excessive
weeding, no doubt!) I used my usual remedy - jewelweed crushed and
rubbed on the area - but it didn't do the job it usually does. So
I tried lemon balm hydrosol spritzed on the infected area and it
dried up the pustules in a day or two!

Seven brave people dipped their hands into fresh stinging nettle at the Sustainable Fair in Elkins on April 16th, then sprayed lemon balm hydrosol on their hands - and the sting left! I was stung by a wasp (I am allergic to bee stings) and sprayed the hydrosol on my hands in both places and the sting left in about two minutes with no swelling or redness.
AT the Dowser's Conference in Vermont, a participant in my workshop asked for help with a rash under her breasts that was driving her crazy. I gave her the rest of the lemon balm hydrosol I had and next day she thanked me, saying it was all gone and she was so relieved. In addition, Kaycee Lamb's son, Ryan, had a rash all over both arms which was very irritating and making him very irritable - exhausting all over the counter preparations which did not help, Kaycee sprayed Ryan's rash and it disappeared within a day - with no itch in sight!
