The examined life is
full of choices. There are choices that can be made which lead to
peaceful solutions. There are also choices that can be made which
lead to war and destruction. It has been said that a conquered
people or nation never forgets. The next time, their memories of
their conqueror's actions become incentives to further war and
destruction. But can our memories of how we make peace and keep
peace also be incentives for the next generation? Can
peaceful techniques and solutions learned as a culture and a
society be part of our inheritance? After all, if the twelfth
monkey knows automatically what the first eleven monkeys learned, can't the
succeeding generations of the human race also inherit peaceful
techniques and strategies learned by their ancestors?
